This Sunday we’re back in the church building to celebrate the feast of Candlemas with a quiet, traditional Holy Communion service at 8.30 a.m., a lively Eucharist for all ages at 10.30 a.m. and a short, reflective candle-lit Night Church at 8 p.m. There is also a joint choral evensong for Candlemas at our sister church, Holy Trinity in Stirling at 5 p.m.
The picture is of St Brigid, of Ireland whose festival is the day before Candlemas. It is by Scottish painter John Duncan and hangs in the National Galleries of Scotland. To find out more about the traditions associated with Brigid, including the St Brigid Cross, come to Night Church!
